Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai

The golf project was inspired by the natural elements of Earth, Fire, Wind & Water, and to design each of these courses they involved three of the game's greats - Greg Norman, Vijay Singh and Sergio Garcia, plus the legendary golf course designer Pete Dye.

Rarely has the development of a course received more attention from its creators, who include the European Tour, Jumeirah Golf Estates and Greg Norman himself, than the Earth course at Jumeirah. Moreover the investment has been massive, with funding reaching twice the average expenditure per hole for a top class golf course.

No wonder that no other course development has come under such scrutiny with the eyes of the golf world trained upon it, as it prepares for its maiden

Jumeirah Golf Estates

round in the Dubai World Championship from 19-22 November 2009.

The course has been fully grassed since April 2008, a full 19 months before it opens to public or tournament play. After the inaugural event (no less than the $10 million Race to Dubai finale for the top 60 European Tour players) it will open for limited public play. The course will be in a more pristine condition than most professional players will have ever experienced.

Opening November 2009
